About the Speaker: JP Conklin

JP Conklin is the founder of two companies within the commercial real estate industry. Pensford Financial Group is an interest rate advisory firm, and LoanBoss, Inc. is a loan management software company. JP started his career twenty years ago on the Wachovia trading floor, selling interest rate derivatives to commercial real estate groups. He left in 2009 to start Pensford, with the goal of leveling the playing field between the banks and the borrowers. After nearly 15 years, Pensford is an industry-leading provider of hedge services to more than 800 commercial and multifamily real estate firms and executes over 1,000 hedge transactions and defeasances each year. He has a weekly newsletter read by more than 15,000 industry professionals and a podcast his wife makes him do on the same topics.

JP launched LoanBoss in late 2019 to address the technology gap around debt tools for the same customers. LoanBoss provides a turnkey solution for document centralization, complex calculations, and interest rate analysis. LoanBoss is the winner of numerous technology awards and remains the industry-leading loan management tool, serving some of the largest sponsors and brokerages in the country. JP is an economics graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, served in the US Army’s 1/75th Ranger Battalion, and is a private pilot. He is a proud father of five and lives in Charlotte, NC.
